Premium Inorganic Fabric Fire Shutter: Product Features and Installation Guide

 Fabric Fire Shutter

As a leading manufacturer of fire protection materials in China, our premium inorganic fabric fire-rated rolling shutter doors are designed in compliance with GB14102-2005 “Fire Shutters” standards. These advanced fire shutters provide superior fire resistance without the need for water curtains, making them an ideal solution for industrial and residential buildings. With enhanced insulation due to the internal use of aluminum silicate fiber felt, this fire shutter also features strengthening ribs spaced 500-600mm apart and an air layer between two sections. The transmission mechanism operates using a single shutter motor driving two shutter axles, each winding a shutter and equipped with guide roller axles. These fire shutters are equipped with manual and electric controls, remote operation, obstacle detection, and auto-descend features. They are suitable for replacing firewalls indoors to create fire partitions, or as a general-purpose fire-rated rolling shutter door.

Key Product Features:

  1. Lightweight Design: The average surface weight of the shutter is just 16kg, approximately one-third to one-half the weight of steel fire shutters. This reduction in weight also means a lighter transmission system, making it ideal for large openings where fire compartmentalization is critical.
  2. Fire Wall Performance: Complies with GB14102-2005 fire shutter standards, offering the same protection as a fire wall without requiring a water curtain.
  3. Customizable Aesthetics: The decorative fabric color is customizable, allowing users to match the product with their architectural environment.
  4. Safe and Reliable Operation: The fire shutters provide safe and smooth operation, with a reliable performance that meets fire safety standards.
  5. Low Noise and Energy Efficiency: These fire shutters operate quietly and consume less energy, making them an eco-friendly solution.
  6. Cost-Efficient: By eliminating the need for water networks, pumps, automatic alarm systems, and separate water tanks, the overall project cost is significantly reduced. This also conserves a considerable amount of firefighting water.
  7. Ease of Installation: The simple design and lack of water-based fire suppression systems make these shutters easier to install, saving time and labor.

Technical Performance:

A. Installation Inside the Opening, with No Obstacles in the Opening:
In this scenario, the top of the shutter is attached to the beam or floor slab, and the side guide rails are fixed to the columns or walls. When the shutter is lowered, the bottom aligns with the floor. The height and width of the shutter correspond to the height and width of the opening. During installation measurement, only the height (H) and width (W) of the shutter need to be measured. See Figure 1 for the installation guide.
B. Installation Inside the Opening, with an Obstacle at the Top of the Opening:
In this case, the top of the shutter aligns with the obstacle, while the side guide rails are attached to the columns or walls. When the shutter is lowered, the bottom aligns with the floor. The width of the shutter matches the width of the opening, and the height corresponds to the distance from the floor to the bottom of the obstacle. Installation measurements should include the width and height of the opening, the height to the bottom of the obstacle, and the size of the obstacle. It is recommended to provide site photos as well. See Figure 2 for the installation guide. The void formed by the obstacle can be sealed separately.
C. Installation Inside the Opening, with an Obstacle on the Side of the Opening:
This scenario, where there is an obstacle on the side of the opening, is more complex and requires different solutions based on the specific site conditions. During installation measurement, the width and height of the opening, as well as the distance from the obstacle to the edge of the opening, must be measured. A special bracket plate will be used to avoid the obstacle. Detailed site photos are also required. See Figure 3 for the installation guide.
  1. Fire Resistance: The fire-resistance limit exceeds 3 hours (≥3.00h), with an average temperature rise on the non-fire side of 67.2°C and a maximum single-point temperature rise of 95.2°C.
  2. Wind Pressure Resistance: The fire shutter meets the wind pressure resistance requirements outlined in GB14102-93.
  3. Opening/Closing Speed: Operates at a speed of 2-9m/s, ensuring timely operation in case of an emergency.
